Position Overview:
The General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues, performing regular preventative maintenance, and responding to urgent repair needs as they arise. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial machinery, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Assist with the installation, calibration, and setup of new equipment as required.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and support production goals.
- Respond to emergency repair requests quickly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.
- Assist in the development and improvement of maintenance procedures and practices.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools to support ongoing maintenance needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Production Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or vocational training is a plus).
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, such as conveyors, pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated production systems or robotics.
- Basic electrical knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Previous experience with Preventive Maintenance Management Software (PMMS) or similar systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
